How to make DIY foot scrub?
What is the purpose of using body scrubs? It’s simple: to smooth skin out and remove dead skin cells. Moreover, body scrubs improve blood flow and – what is connected with that – such products foster skin regeneration processes and nourish each skin cell. The strongest effects are created when body scrub is applied right after bathing/showering.
How to use body scrubs? You have to keep rubbing the cosmetic into skin for several minutes, let it sit for a while and then rinse. I always follow with a body cream, and this is what I advise you to do as well.
RECIPE: DIY Foot scrub | coarse abrasive grains
Scrubs with coarse abrasive grains (e.g. with sea salt) can be used on very thick skin such as heel skin. When I want to create it, I combine two spoons of cream and two drops of a chosen oil (try lavender oil!) with a half cup of sea salt. You can replace cream with olive oil. When my scrub is ready, I start massaging it into feet, focusing on the parts where skin is considerably thicker.
RECIPE: DIY Foot scrub | fine abrasive grains
I combine fine sugar with a half teaspoon of cinnamon and two spoons of honey. When ready, I keep massaging me feet for approximately 5 minutes straight. Sometimes I prepare a poppy seed scrub, and this means that I use 1/3 cup of poppy, combine with one spoon of sugar and two spoons of lemon juice.
Do you know what are other things that remove dead epidermal cells effectively? Brown sugar and fine oat flakes. Take two spoons of both products each, add a spoon of honey, lemon juice and a dash of olive oil. Basically, you can also combine two spoons of coffee grains, three spoons of honey and a spoon of olive oil.
How to make DIY foot mask?
First things first, masks contain a highly concentrated portion of nourishing substances. I try to apply foot mask at least once a week to help my skin remain nourished, smooth and fresh-looking. Regarding of the ingredients you use, your foot mask may deliver various effects: regeneration, nourishment, moisture.
How to apply foot mask? Apply the mask to foot and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. If you care for achieving better results, you may wrap the feet with food foil or put on socks and go sleeping. Rinse the food mask in the morning. I usually do it and my feet are smooth.
RECIPE: DIY Regenerating foot mask
I combine three bananas with two spoons of yogurt and spread the mask over my feet. Sometimes I mix oat flakes with a dash of warm milk or yogurt and a spoon of honey. I keep it on my feet for 15 minutes. Other times I take an avocado and combine it with three spoons of natural yogurt. When I spread it over my feet, I wrap them with food foil and remove after 20 minutes.
RECIPE: DIY Exfoliating foot mask
I mix 1/4 cup of almonds and oat flakes each, use a blender to crush them and then I add three spoons of butter and two spoons of honey. When I want to soften the foot skin and remove dead epidermal cells easier, I take an egg and a cup of yogurt and lemon juice each. Once mixed in a bowl, I add the content of 2 vitamin E capsules. Finally, I can drown my feet in it.
I also adore the effects offered by citric acid and abies sibirica oil, but I use it only at bedtime. I combine five spoons of any foot cream with urea and then combine with four spoons of citric acid, two spoons of olive oil and a few drops of abies sibirica oil.
How to make DIY foot cream?
Foot creams can be used daily, and they should be the last stage of your foot ritual. Mind you, if you prefer using homemade foot creams, don’t make much of them because such cosmetic won’t last long if free from preservatives.
RECIPE: DIY Nourishing foot cream
I combine six spoons of shea butter and five spoons of olive and coconut oil each. Then I add a few drops of essential oil and put into a fridge (30 minutes). Then I apply it to foot.
RECIPE: DIY Moisturising foot cream
I combine shea butter, cream with vitamin A and coconut oil (no particular proportions to follow). I apply this cream at bedtime.
