Chill-out time wanted! Let’s prepare the best home SPA

Do you happen to have a lot of time and no idea what to do with it? Have your days been stressful recently? Do you feel like you need to relax and boost the mood or you will go mad? You can do that WITHOUT LEAVING THE HOUSE. I share a thing that always remedies my body and soul, that is home SPA. There are way more benefits than mere relaxation. Why don’t you see it for yourself?

SPA means beautiful aromas, baths, essential oils, music, dimmed lights and sometimes snacks. It is like a ritual of beauty, neither toilsome nor difficult to perform. Everybody can do it. See the things I use in my home SPA:

  • natural beauty oils
  • essential oils
  • bath salt
  • DIY body scrub
  • scented candles
  • sometimes massage candles
  • ingredients for DIY masks, cosmetic clay
  • lamp or cotton balls to create the mood
  • you can take sweets or healthy snacks like almonds and nuts

Recipe for DIY SPA step by step

1. Choose the perfect time and create nice atmosphere

An evening is said to be the best time but there are no fixed rules so it’s up to you. PM is my best time for relaxation and body repair. Nobody comes in my way so there’s just me and my feelings.

Perfect mood – what surrounds you – is the secret to fruitful SPA session. Use everything that has a soothing effect on your senses. For example I use scented candles and oils, cotton balls, mood music – I love nature sounds (rainfall, sea, woods) as well as calming, classical music. Sometimes I listen to an audiobook, absorbed, forgetting about all concerns.

2. Prepare homemade cosmetics

The closer to nature you are, the better. My DIY beauty products make up an essential element of my SPA ritual and even preparing them is fun. I love everything about them: color, scent, texture. During one SPA session I use a few homemade cosmetics ranging from oils and butters through salts and coffee scrubs to honey, herbs, hydrosols and clays.

3. Time for an aromatic bath

My bath has a different aroma every time. I’ve got a few different salts and some DIY bags filled with herbs and rolled oats – I put them in the tub to infuse nutritional ingredients into the water. If you like you can use aromatic fizzy bath bomb. I also like to add some essential oil.

I almost forgot! Make sure the water isn’t hot. The optimal temperature ranges from 36 to 39 Celsius degrees.

4. Do a scrub

I think a coffee-based home scrub is a brilliant cosmetic. You can mix it with a fine-quality natural vegetable oil and enrich it with essential oil. DIY scrubs are often way better than ready-made products. Use them on a regular basis and soon you will boast a firm, smooth, cellulite-free body.

5. Prepare a natural face mask

Heat in the bathroom makes skin absorbent and soft so it soaks up nutrients and is thoroughly cleansed.

My top DIY face mask is based on white or pink cosmetic clay. Instead of water, I usually use rose water and aloe + white tea gel-serum to thin it. Jewel!

6. Treat your hair to oils

Hair oil treatment is a model example of SPA treatment. This is the wellness philosophy-inspired therapy. Oils deeply nourish and repair hair, and strengthen hair follicles – critical part of a hair.

Smooth the oil over the hair, covering the scalp as well. Once your SPA session comes to an end, you can shampoo the tresses and skin.

7. Do a body massage

Natural oils are my beloved cosmetics perfect for hair, face, body… During my home SPA I mix a spoon of cold-pressed oil (e.g. almond oil) with a few drops of grapefruit essential oil (anti-cellulite effect) and massage it into my thighs and belly. This form of massage rocks!
Note! A natural oil is a good replacement for body lotions and balms.

Once my SPA is over, I nourish the skin as usual with a toner (hydrosol), serum and moisturizer. I also like to rub some oil into hair tips. That’s it. Full relaxation. Do you sometimes treat yourself to SPA at home?
